Freelance Photographer Assistant
Location: Groningen, (On-site)
Marie van Hoorn is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Freelance Photographer Assistant to join us for several Saturday photoshoots between October and November. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about photography, customer service, and working in a creative environment.
Schedule & Commitment
- Availability for 6 hours per day
- 3–4 Saturdays between October and November (exact dates to be confirmed)
Your Responsibilities
As a Photographer Assistant, you will work closely with Marie during photoshoots to ensure everything runs smoothly. Duties include:
- Assisting with setting up photography equipment (lighting, backdrops, props, etc.)
- Greeting and welcoming customers upon arrival
- Helping subjects feel comfortable and prepared for their shoot
- Organizing and maintaining props, backdrops, and other studio items
- Assisting with camera gear changes and battery/card management
- Managing the shoot schedule and keeping track of time
- Recording behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage for social media or portfolio purposes
- Providing tea, coffee, and light refreshments to customers
- Supporting with basic post-shoot clean-up and equipment packing
- Performing other on-set tasks as needed to ensure a professional and efficient sess
Requirements
- At least B2 level English speaking skills
- Dutch and/or Spanish language skills are a strong plus
- Friendly and professional demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
- Comfortable interacting with clients of all ages, including children and pets
- Ability to follow instructions and anticipate needs during shoots
- Reliable, punctual, and well-organized
- Interest in photography and willingness to learn (previous experience is a plus, but not required)
